The Technician, NC State's studnet newspaper, has reported that the Wolfpack football team has a meeting scheduled for 9 p.m. tonight at the Murphy Center inside Carter Finley.
News has been swirling all day about Chuck Amato's future at NC State. This meeting and several published stories on-line seem to point to Amato's firing or resignation as head coach. An announcement is expected sometime after this 9 p.m. meeting.
Don't expect any sort of press conference until Tuesday, however. It would be innappropriate to hold a press conference on Monday. This is because it is UNC's day to announce the official hiring of Butch Davis and Sydney Lowe's biggest game thus far as Wolfpack basketball coach.
If the firing is made official, then stay tuned for my list of potential replacements for the head coaching position at NC State.
